About Our Site

UsedCarAdvisor was formed to offer a unique reference point on how to buy a used car safely.

Buying a used car is fraught with danger. How do you guarantee the car for sale has not been stolen? Is there any outstanding finance owed on the car? Has it been written off or involved in an accident in the past? How do you ensure the seller is who he claims to be? Is the car mechanically sound?

UsedCarAdvisor was created to guide buyers through this potential minefield. It is crammed full of advice to ensure the transaction goes ahead as smoothly as possible. Whether you are buying from a dealer, at an auction, or privately, UsedCarAdvisor has tips to help you get the right car at the right price.

For most people, buying a car is one of the biggest single purchases they will make. That's why UsedCarAdvisor looks at ways to finance the deal and examines the additional costs involved in running a car, such as road tax, insurance, repairs and breakdown cover.

Selling a used car can be just as risky as buying one, but UsedCarAdvisor includes tips on how to avoid buying scams and check a buyer's credentials. There is a wealth of information on how to get the best price when selling a used car, from writing the advertisement to preparing the car for sale.

Our concern was that there was no single UK resource for interesting features and practical advice on this subject.

Our features and articles are written by experts - who have experience, or a particular interest in this area.
